What should we do with sex offenders?

I think that even though sex offenders serve their time in jail it is not enough. Most of the times after they are let out they just begin where they ended. Letting them out leaves others for getting raped and abused. They should have life sentence and depending on how severe it was putting them in a certain jail house, like chain gang for example. I do not think that the death penalty should come into play here because that is just letting them off easily. They did what they did and the person has to live with it for the rest of their lives but the sex offender gets off by getting the death penalty. I do not think it should be like that.
